The New York 10-13 Association is an organization for retired New York City Police Officers. At the present time we represent approximately 4500 retirees and are growing daily. We are located at 266-19 Hillside Avenue, Floral Park, NY, 11004. Our office is staffed with volunteers between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. and we can be reached at those times by telephone at 718 343-7271 or Fax us anytime at 718 343-1850. We can also be reached via Email to President Gene Loewy at eeloewylt@aol.com or to Secretary Bob McLaughlin at Bobm5@ix.netcom.com Our purpose is to seek meaningful benefits for retirees and preserve those pension rights we now enjoy. We engage in lobbying efforts at the State and local level to push for legislation that is beneficial to our members. Recently we were successful in getting a Pension Supplemental Bill passed by the New York State Legislature. We also spoke before the New York City Council resulting in an earlier implementation of that bill for city retirees. We also have found that letter writing - we use post cards which we have printed and sent to our members for remailing - does have an influence on our elected officials. We currently have a post card campaign aimed at restoring cuts made in medical coverage for those members covered by medicare. We have been consulting with attorneys in the preparation of litigation designed to gain control over our Health and Welfare benefits.
